This is my blog on a wide variety of things that I spend time thinking about, or at least the stuff that I become motivated enough to write about. So mostly things I enjoy. Plus, of course, I want to play around with blog technology.
Personal
I spent the first 16 years of my life living in Rhode Island – I spent time competitively sailing, enjoying the great beaches and earning an Eagle Scout award. My family moved to Winchester, Massachusetts in 1980 and I graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1987. I married Marni and we have three wonderful kids - Rachel, Louis, Max – who are growing up too quickly. I love rooting for The New England Patriots and The Boston Red Sox. I enjoy golfing as often as possible, which isn’t nearly enough to be good. During the too few summer months of New England, I spend some time tending to a pretty big vegetable garden. I also love to snowboard, especially when I get a chance to ride from a helicopter within British Columbia. I started skiing when I was 4 years old, skied everything that I could and switched to snowboarding in 1996 – never skied another day since.
Finally, I have a great Portuguese Water Dog named Charlie who is a ton of fun.
Since I’m a “computer guy”, many people ask me about what software to use. I’m a Mac these days and I keep an online list of software that I have found useful, and below are a few that I really like:
Professional
I hear, read about many people that claim to be a serial entrepreneur. I’m probably in that club as I started shoveling snow from drive ways and mowing lawns when I was 12, which predate my more recent stories
